Project Management

ATI employs a project management methodology in the management of both major and minor projects. ATI ensures that project results meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations through the establishment of management and specialist engineering teams. Visibility of progress and issues is provided to the customer through the project reporting structure and adherence to risk management principles throughout all phases of the project. Design and Manufacturing Support

ATI is experienced in the design and manufacture of complex sub-systems and components. ATI has designed and manufactured the following for Defence customers:

Installation, Commissioning and Trials

ATI has considerable experience in installation, commissioning and trials required to introduce new technology into service with the Australian Defence Force. Services provided by ATI include:

Electrical Installation

Experience with Royal Australian Navy (RAN) cabling requirements includes fitting of standard and low fire hazard cabling.

Termination of Cables

Specialist tools and procedures are employed by ATI in the manufacture and termination of cables utilising Mil Spec connectors.

Setting to Work, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials

Extensive experience has been developed in the conduct of Setting to Work, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials for the following equipment:

Aircraft Installation

Experience in Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) engineering requirements have been developed through the installation, integration and trials of ALE-47 countermeasure Dispensing Systems on C-130H aircraft.

Kelvin Hughes Equipment Repair

ATI's Canberra Support Centre includes a comprehensive suite of Kelvin Hughes navigational radars, Colour Tactical Displays and KH1020 P/Y Code GPS. These suites provide the environment for verification of repaired circuit cards and assemblies.

Telephonics Equipment Repair

In support of the new generation of Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) for RAN and RNZAF, ATI has been selected and is qualified to perform all levels of repair work for the:

Electro Optical System Repair

ATI has been selected by Raytheon Electronic Systems as their Australian partner for the support of the AAQ-27 (3FOV) infrared imaging system whereby ATI undertakes repairs, servicing and alignment of the AAQ-27 (3FOV) for the RAN.

Cryptographic Equipment Repair

The unique combination of ATI's technical experience with facility and personnel security clearances, equip ATI to repair secure computing and communications equipment.

General Electronic Assembly Repair

A comprehensive range of general purpose and "special to type" test equipment provides the capability to repair a range of general electronic control and communications equipment.

Documentation

ATI has established a documentation team to support technical projects. This team specialises in providing technical documents specific to customer needs. Technical documents produced include manuals to Australian Air Publications (AAP), DEF(AUST)5629A and industry standards. The documentation team has the technical and authoring experience to produce documentation that meets the high standards expected by our customers.

ATI's technical and operational staff has experience in the design, development and conduct of training for Defence customers. ATI employs a systems approach to training that is consistent with the training systems employed by each of the three Services. Training courses developed and conducted by ATI have included:

Personnel

Systems Engineering Division is manned with engineering, technical and management personnel from both the Military and Civilian environments. This provides ATI with experience in the repair of a wide range of equipment across a variety of technologies. ATI's Engineers and Technicians are able to operate and repair classified and cryptographic equipment.

Facilities

Systems Engineering Division operates Support Centres to provide a support and maintenance capability for in-service systems and evolving technologies.

The Canberra Support Centre with approximately 800M² of floor space includes maintenance areas cleared to work on classified equipment. Additionally, the Support Centre is equipped with a comprehensive range of test equipment.
